Descriptions

Paste these as written, or cut them down. Please write the name as “Tunl Focus”: plain “Tunl” is shared with several unrelated companies.

One line

Tunl Focus is a task app that makes you decide, then do.

About 25 words

Tunl Focus is a task app that makes you decide, then do. Every task gets an answer, and the Tunnel shows you one task at a time, full screen.

About 50 words

Tunl Focus is a decide-and-execute task app for people who freeze in front of a long list. Every task gets one of four answers: done, drop, snooze or defer. Then the Tunnel shows exactly one task, full screen, with nothing else on it. It is free on your device, with no account needed.

About 100 words

Tunl Focus is a decide-and-execute task app for people who freeze in front of a long list. Instead of letting tasks rot at the bottom, it asks for an answer on every one: done, drop, snooze or defer. Overdue tasks collect in one place and get cleared the same way. When it is time to work, the Tunnel shows exactly one task, full screen, and counts how often you leave it. Tunl Focus runs on the web and Android, and is free on your device with no account. A paid plan ($7.49/month) adds sync, backup and Google Calendar. It is made by Berthyves Egersdorf and Jacob Egersdorf.

What makes it different

The Tunnel

A full-screen focus mode that shows one task and nothing else. No list underneath, no sidebar. It counts how often you back out and how often you are interrupted.

Every task gets an answer

Done, drop, snooze or defer, in the Tunnel, in the overdue pile, anywhere a task shows up. Nothing sits at the bottom of the list unanswered.

Nothing rots

Overdue tasks collect in one place, and you clear them with the same four answers in a few taps.

Free on your device

The Tunnel, the four answers, overdue clearing and reminders all work on your device with no account and no sign-up. The paid plan adds sync, backup and Google Calendar.

The people behind it

Tunl Focus is made by Berthyves Egersdorf and Jacob Egersdorf, a couple. Jacob builds it, and Berthyves, who goes by B, lives in it.

For years B kept every task in a spreadsheet with a Sort column, worked only on row 0, and reshuffled the whole list whenever the anxiety hit, until the order felt right enough to trust the one thing on top again. Tunl Focus is that spreadsheet, built properly: the list for arranging everything, and the Tunnel for being handed one thing to do.

Most of what has changed since the first version changed because it did not survive B's actual week.

“Tunl Focus is that spreadsheet, built properly. The list is there when I want the control of arranging everything. The Tunnel is there when I just need to be handed one thing.”
Berthyves Egersdorf, co-founder
